Opened in 2022, Wallsend Active Hub is worth a visit. Located in Federal Park next to Wallsend Pool, there’s plenty to do at Wallsend Active Hub making it great for families with kids of different ages.
Wallsend Active Hub includes a playspace featuring equipment for a variety of ages, pump track for bikes, scooters and skateboards and multi-sports courts allowing for basketball and futsal, rebound wall, climbing wall and fitness stations.
You can’t miss the brightly coloured playground which features a combination of bark and softfall. There’s a play structure that’s great for little ones.
There are stairs and ramps for them to climb up to it.
They can then slide down one of the two slides or run across the rope bridge.
Nearby is a climbing frame, great for kids who love to climb.
The swing block has two regular swings, a baby swing and an accessibility swing.
There is also an all-abilities spinning carousel in the playspace.
For older kids, there is a rectangular climbing frame which incorporates a spiders web, climbing nets, mini climbing wall and balancing components.
It’s good for older kids who can climb up and along the top.
The mini in-ground trampolines are super fun and are popular with both kids and parents.
Near to the trampolines is a group swing.
Located next to the playground is the pump track, suitable for those on bikes, scooters and skateboards.
It’s between the playground and sports courts.
Located next to the pump track are the multi-sport courts which can be used for basketball and futsal. There are two courts to choose from.
At the back of Wallsend Active Hub is a large climbing wall with outdoor fitness equipment.
On the other side of the climbing wall is a rebound wall so bring racquets and balls.
Wallsend Active Hub is a great place for families with kids of different ages. Younger kids can enjoy themselves in the playground and pump track while older kids can practice their sports skills in the multi-sport court.
There is seating around the playground and there is clear line of sight from the playground to pump track and to the sports courts.
There’s an amenities block at Wallsend Active Hub located near the playground.
Future plans for Wallsend Active Hub include a BBQ area, shelter and seating
