Blacktown Easter Show

If you’re looking for something before the long weekend kicks off, the Blacktown Easter Show is one of Sydney’s only free Easter shows. It’s a relaxed community celebration with a strong food market focus over 25 food trucks and stalls covering a range of cuisines, desserts and drinks. Kids can visit the free petting zoo, collect free Easter eggs, grab showbags and get temporary tattoos or hair braiding. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for free photos on Saturday night, with fireworks rounding out the evening at 9pm. A solid option for Western Sydney families wanting a free, low-key Easter outing before the long weekend rush.

Sydney Royal Easter Show

Australia’s biggest celebration of the country, the Sydney Royal Easter Show is back for 2026 with tickets on sale now. Although the show is described as an agricultural show, it’s much more than that. It’s a celebration of rural and agricultural industry dating back to 1823 and includes animal displays, award-winning produce and crafts.

For a day of fun, head to The Ingenia Holiday Parks Sydney Family Show. It is held at the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park. There’s heaps of fun for you and kids to enjoy including a bunny hopping competition, reptile show, live stage shows, traditional carnival games, show bags, and the cuddliest of little friends in the animal nursery,

The Ingenia Holiday Parks Family Show offers a myriad of activities for all ages, including the Stunt Bike Show, Reptile Show and dynamic live stage performances running daily.

Luna Park Sydney is getting into the Easter spirit across all four days of the long weekend. Entry to the Easter celebrations is free, making it an easy option for families who want to pick and choose their activities. The Easter Bunny will be hopping through the park throughout each day with meet-and-greet sessions running roughly every hour from 10:15am to 2:45pm — check session times on arrival as these are subject to change.

Head into the Retail Shop to enter the Darrell Lea Easter Guessing Game — guess how many eggs are in the jar for the chance to win a Darrell Lea Easter Hamper. The first correct guess each day wins, with entries open 10am–3pm daily. If you want to make a full day of it, book an Unlimited Rides Pass in advance to save and get access to the rollercoasters, family-friendly rides and the classic Coney Island fun house.

The Hills Easter Show

Aussie Night Markets presents The Hills Easter Show, 4 days of all the foods, desserts and retail stalls you know and love plus an amazing line up of entertainment. The show includes kids rides and jumping castles, carnival games, market and craft stalls, animal nursery, face painting, showbags, pony and horse rides, as well as lots more entertainment.

St Ives Easter Carnival

Head to the St Ives Easter Carnival for a full day of family entertainment. This one-day event includes amusement rides, jumping castles, pony rides, circus performances, reptile encounters and a petting zoo. Kids can enjoy face painting, Easter egg hunt games and meet the Easter Bunny along with some favourite superhero mascots. There will also be plenty of food and dessert stalls, showbags and market stalls to explore throughout the day. The Grounds of Alexandria has a full Easter program running across the long weekend. The garden fills with hidden mini chocolate eggs each morning from 8:30–9:30am (3–5 April), with two golden eggs also up for grabs. The laneways have been transformed into an Emma Memma-themed Easter wonderland with towering blooms and hidden surprises — access is for diners only, so book a table to make a day of it. An inflatable playground runs 10am–2pm across all four days of the long weekend ($12 per child), and on Easter Sunday evening the famous 1.2-tonne chocolate egg cracking takes place from 6:30pm. Bookings essential for all ticketed activities via Humanitix.

Head to South Eveleigh over two lunchtime sessions for a relaxed pre-Easter celebration with free hot cross buns, roving entertainment and some very cute bunnies. The Grounds is giving away 1,500 warm hot cross buns across both days — simply like their social pages or subscribe to the newsletter to claim yours while stocks last. Pick up on Tuesday from Locomotive Street near Pepper Seeds, or Wednesday from Interchange Pavilion near Sette.

Roving jugglers and balloon artists will be making their way through the precinct over lunch, and on Tuesday only, you can get up close with real bunnies at the Bunny Cuddles experience (12pm–2pm) at Interchange Pavilion. A lovely low-key option if you’re in the inner city and after something free and easy with little ones.

Easter Celebrations at Hunter Valley Gardens

Join Hunter Valley Gardens for a long weekend of fun, including Easter activities, a visit from the Easter Bunny and amazing rides (user-pay). Every child will receive an Easter chocolate after the Hoppity Hollow Hunt*.

Hoppity Hollow Hunt Tickets are $2 per child when purchased as an add-on to your Mega Creatures Day session tickets. Children with pre-purchased hunt tickets* can participate in the Hoppity Hollow Hunt from 9:30am to 3pm during the Easter long weekend and search for nominated eggs with the numbers 1,2 and 3. Make a weekend of it and head south to Jamberoo water-theme park in Wollongong for some Easter fun. This season, they will continue the trend of recent years with individually prepared bags of chocolate Easter eggs being handed out to all children aged 4-12 years when they enter the park. This helps with safety measures, adds a personal touch and a photo opportunity, and means all children will get their own special bag of eggs.

Be early! From 10 – 11am the Easter Bunny and Sammy the Shark will start handing out the eggs and they will be available for photos near the park entrance – so bring your camera and share the fun with #jamberooactionpark on Facebook and Instagram. 

There will also be an Easter Hamper Guessing Competition, and other competitions and giveaways around Outback Bay all day long! They recommend that tickets be bought online (to save time and money), but they can be bought at the gate with ticket booths opening at 10.00am – or slightly earlier. They recommend all guests* to be ready to come in by 9.45am.
