When is the Sydney Royal Easter Show?

The Sydney Royal Easter Show runs over 12 days each year during the Easter school holidays.

In 2026, the show runs from Thursday 2 April to Monday 13 April, with gates opening at 8:30am and the show concluding each night around 9pm. Most pavilions open at 9am.

Where is the Sydney Royal Easter Show held?

The Sydney Royal Easter Show takes place at Sydney Olympic Park.

Sydney Olympic Park is easy to reach by public transport, with trains, buses and ferries running regularly during the event. Tickets include same day return public transport  is typically included in the price of your Easter Show ticket.

Parking

Parking is available at Sydney Olympic Park but it is in high demand during the show.

Pre-booked parking costs around $35 for the day and is strongly recommended if you plan to drive.

Is public transport included in my Sydney Royal Easter Show ticket?

Yes, 2026 Sydney Royal Easter Show tickets include same day return travel on public transport between between Thursday 2 April to Monday 13 April inclusive. Simply show your Sydney Royal Easter Show ticket or approved pass to the NSW Transport guard or equivalent and they will provide access to the transport service.

Please do not tap your Opal Card or you will be charged as normal for the journey. Remember to keep your ticket safe for your return journey home as a valid ticket is required when travelling on public transport.

How much are Sydney Royal Easter Show tickets?

Tickets for the 2026 Sydney Royal Easter Show are only available online via Ticketmaster. Public transport is included in the ticket and you will need to select the date of attending.

How to save money on Sydney Royal Easter Show tickets

Sydney Royal Easter Show tickets are available online via Ticketmaster only. There are a number of ways to save money on tickets:

A visit to the Easter Show can get expensive, but there are several ways to reduce the cost.

Buy Early Bird tickets

Early Bird tickets are usually released several months before the show and offer discounted entry prices.

Attend Kids Day

Kids Day offers reduced price tickets for children and often includes ride promotions such as 2-for-1 carnival rides until 4pm. In 2026, Kids Day tickets are $18 for Kids and $47 for Adults.

Buy Twilight tickets

Twilight tickets allow entry after 4pm at a reduced price and still give families several hours to explore the show.

Look for special event days

Some days offer discounted entry for seniors or special ride promotions. Unlimited Ride Wristband $45 is available on 2 April 2026 between 10am – 2pm. This offer is only available to the first 6,000 people. Wristbands can be purchased only on 2 April 2026 from booths at the Gong cha Carnival and Sushi Hub Kids Carnival and are not available to purchase online. 

How much are carnival coupons at the Royal Easter Show?

The carnival area is one of the most exciting parts of the Easter Show for kids and teenagers.

The show now uses a Easter Show Fun Pass app, replacing traditional paper ride coupons.

You load credits onto a card or through the Easter Show app and simply tap to ride.

All carnival rides require 4 or more credits.  You can check how many credits you’ll need for each ride by visiting the Carnival section on the website.

Each ride contains information about height restriction and number of tickets required. This helps you calculate how many overall credits you’ll need. The cheapest ride is Helter Skelter and Super Slide at 4 credits and the most expensive rides are is The Beast, and Extreme Speed requiring 16 credits, SkyFlyer XXL 20 credits, Warrior 24 credits and Sling Shot at 40 credits.

Credits can be refunded for unused balances after the show, although a small processing fee applies.

Farmyard Nursery

The Farmyard Nursery is one of the most loved attractions at the show. Kids can get up close to hundreds of animals including ducklings, piglets, sheep, goats and donkeys.

Animal Walk

Follow the Animal Walk trail through the pavilions to see prize-winning livestock including cows, alpacas, horses, pigs and sheep.

Chick Hatching

Watch as little cracks appear and baby chicks take their first tentative peep at the world around them. It’s a magical sight for young and old

Riverina Fresh Milking Barn

Families can watch demonstrations showing how dairy farmers care for cows and produce milk. Visitors sometimes even get the chance to try hand milking.

Bluey live experiences

There are lots of entertainment options to keep kids happy at the show. Kids can watch Bluey and Bingo perform live on stage and join in interactive games like Magic Xylophone and Keepy Uppy.

There is plenty to enjoy for the evening entertainment. When the sun begins to set, head over to the main arena for this year’s show-stopping evening entertainment and non-stop action.

Due to limited capacity in the stadium, we recommend you head to the venue early to secure your seat for the lunchtime entertainment, evening entertainment and fireworks finale.

Yes, the fireworks display will be part of the evening entertainment each night of the Show. Taking place nightly at 8:50 PM in the ENGIE stadium, this breathtaking display is a must-see. Can’t wait to see what showbags will be available? You can check them out ahead of time and even make a wishlist. Visit the showbags section of the Royal Easter Show website. They range in price from $5 to $40. Here’s a list of our 2026 favourite showbags.

There’s different categories of showbags including confectionery, sports, toys & novelty and health, fashion and lifestyle. Showbags include The Avengers, Barbie,Bluey, Disney Princess, Harry Potter and Hello Kitty.

You can either purchase your showbags when you arrive at the show or at the end. Stash them in a locker so that you don’t have to walk around all day with them if you buy them early. Or do, what some families do, and buy them as you leave the Easter Show. It’s a good way to get the kids to leave without a tantrum.

Are lockers available at the Royal Easter Show?

Yes, there are lockers available to stash your clothes or bags.Pre-booking online for lockers is available, as well as on-the-day sales from the locker hire booth (subject to availability). All-day locker hire is $14 for Regular 90L capacity or $23 for Jumbo 180L capacity.

You can also do $2 Self-Service locker. These lockers are a great option if you don’t expect to re-open your locker frequently throughout your day at the Show. They are located at various sites around the showgrounds. A $2 Coin is required each time the locker is used.

Is there an app for the Royal Sydney Easter Show?

There was an app MyShow to navigate the 2025 Royal Sydney Easter Show but it has been discontinued. You can check out the website instead as it includes all the essential information to help you plan your day at the Show. You can explore all of the animals, entertainment, pavilions, carnival rides, food options and showbags.

How can I keep kids safe at the Sydney Royal Easter Show?

The Sydney Royal Easter Show is a big place with huge crowds. Be sure to keep an eye on your children. It’s easy for kids to get distracted or disoriented and wander in a different direction from you.

  • Dress them in bright distinctive colours, so they are easy to spot in a crowd.
  • Choose a meeting location in case you get separated.
  • Write your mobile number on your kid’s arm in permanent marker (you can easily remove the text with micellar water after the event).
  • For younger kids, use a backpack harness and give older kids a whistle that they can blow to attract your attention if they get lost.
  • You can also attach an Apple Air Tag to their outfit so you can find them.
  • Take a photo of your kid in their outfit in case you do lose them and have to show a photo of what they look like.

There’s nothing worse than running out of battery on your phone. If you run out of power on your phone, for a small fee you can recharge at stations placed around the grounds. There are multiple ChargeSpot Mobile Phone Charging Stations onsite for the convenience of Showgoers.

Simply visit one of the Mobile Phone Charging Stations to charge your phone or rent a portable powerbank to charge your phone on the go as you continue to explore the show. Once your phone is charged, simply return the powerbank to any of the below locations.

All Mobile Phone Charging Stations will allow users to rent a powerbank so they can charge their device and continue to use their phone around the show. You can then return the powerbank to any of the locations listed. It costs $10 for 1 hour charge.

Think about hotel accommodation at Sydney Royal Easter Show

Thinking about staying in Sydney and going to the Royal Easter Show? A friend who attends the Royal Easter Show every year swears that it’s better to book a hotel in Olympic Park especially if you’re travelling from outside Sydney. Her family stays two nights at the hotel.

They get up early and head to the show when it first opens, being one of the first to be there. When the kids get tired or they’re loaded up with show bags, they head back to the room for a rest and then return later for all the evening festivities including fireworks.

Although you have to factor in the cost of accommodation, if you want to maximise your time at the Sydney Royal Easter show, this is something to think about. By order of most expensive to least expensive, they are the Pullman Sydney Olympic Park, Novotel Sydney Olympic Park and Ibis Sydney Olympic Park.
