The Sydney Royal Easter Show is a big place with huge crowds. Be sure to keep an eye on your children. It’s easy for kids to get distracted or disoriented and wander in a different direction from you. Dress them in bright distinctive colours, so they are easy to spot in a crowd.

Write your mobile number on your kids arm in permanent marker (you can easily remove the text with micellar water after the event). For younger kids, use a backpack harness and give older kids a whistle that they can blow to attract your attention if they get lost. Take a photo of your kid in their outfit in case you do lose them and have to show a photo of what they look like.

How to save money on at Sydney Royal Easter Show

Food is one of the reasons that families head to the Royal Easter Show. After all, it’s not the show if you don’t eat a chip on a stick, a CWA scone, toffee apple and fairy floss. However, it can get expensive. If you’re searching for a quick bite on a budget, head to the Big Bush BBQ, an old-fashioned sausage sizzle… and nothing makes the snag taste as good as knowing all funds raised are going straight back to a regional community. Each day of the Show, different NSW Show Societies will pick up the tongs and fire up the barbie in two locations. You can enjoy a sausage sandwich knowing all money made at the BBQ will go to help our friends in the bush. You can also bring your own water, sandwiches and snacks.

Think about hotel accommodation at Sydney Royal Easter Show

Thinking about staying in Sydney and going to the Royal Easter Show? When the kids get tired or they’re loaded up with show bags, they head back to the room for a rest and then return later for all the evening festivities including fireworks.

Although you have to factor in the cost of accommodation, if you want to maximise your time at the Sydney Royal Easter show, this is something to think about. By order of most expensive to least expensive, they are the Pullman Sydney Olympic Park, Novotel Sydney Olympic Park and Ibis Sydney Olympic Park. Don’t forget you can use your $250 Parents NSW voucher to defray the cost of accommodation.
