You’re Kidding Me, the Largest Child & Family Expo in the Hunter Returns

You’re Kidding Me Family Expo is back for 2026!

Talks with child development experts and kids activities are just some of what’s on offer at this year’s You’re Kidding Me Expo, a free family expo presented by Lake Macquarie City Council.

The weeklong event at Charlestown Square connects families with local services, helping parents understand child development and explore childcare options and resources.

The 2026 You’re Kidding Me Expo runs from Monday 1 June – Friday 5 June at Charlestown Square, Centre Court, Level 1, in front of Myer from 9am to 1pm.

This year, there is an additional session on Thursday 4 June from 3pm – 7pm so you can attend after school pickup.

Each day will feature different activities and service providers.

The expo brings together a variety of local services such as speech pathology, Early Childhood Education and Care, family health, nutrition and more – fostering a collaborative environment that empowers families to engage meaningfully with their local community.

Parents and carers can chat with experts and support services while their little ones engage in interactive activities.

Newy with Kids will be at You’re Kidding Me Expo on Friday 5 June, so come and say hello! We’ll have some goodies to give to you and your child.

We’ve been a regular attendee at the You’re Kidding Me Expo since it started in 2013 so we know first-hand how this valuable event connects families to local resources.

Bring your kids as there will be a free 10am show daily.

Discover the variety of programs, resources and services that parents and families can access in Lake Macquarie and drop in for a day or more at the You’re Kidding Me Expo.
