Mini golf is one of those activities that works for the whole family. Little ones love whacking a ball with a stick, big kids get competitive trying to sink a hole in one, and there’s usually a spot to grab a coffee or a cold drink while you wait for your turn.
We’ve rounded up the best putt putt courses across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter, with a mix of indoor and outdoor options so you’re covered no matter the weather.

Dullboy’s Social Co Mini Golf
Dullboy’s has two very different courses depending on which venue you visit. At Dullboy’s Warners Bay, you’ll play 18 holes on an outdoor course with a Palm Springs-inspired look, all palm trees and retro colour. It’s a great option for a sunny afternoon by the lake.
At Dullboy’s Rutherford, the course moves indoors with an arcade and desert theme. Kids will love spotting Pac-Man, Space Invaders and UFOs worked into the holes, plus there’s air hockey and other arcade games to keep the fun going after your round. Keep an eye out for snakes and creepy crawlies hiding along the way.
Both venues are a solid pick for birthday parties or a weekend outing, with food and drink available on site so you can make a full afternoon of it.
Hunter Valley Aqua Golf
If you’re heading out to the Hunter Valley, Aqua Golf combines two activities in one visit. Alongside the aqua golf driving range (where you hit balls out over the lake), there’s an 18-hole putt putt course winding through landscaped gardens within the Hunter Valley Gardens Village.
Ask about the Combo deal if you want to try both, one bucket of balls at the driving range plus a full round of mini golf. Aqua Golf sits within a picnic area, so you’re welcome to bring your own food, drinks, eskies and chairs and turn it into a relaxed family afternoon by the lake.
It’s a lovely stop if you’re already planning a Hunter Valley day out with kids, or combining it with a visit to Hunter Valley Gardens.
Newcastle Supa Putt
Head to Broadmeadow, near McDonald Jones Stadium, for Newcastle’s only 36-hole putt putt centre. There’s an 18-hole undercover course and a separate 18-hole jungle-themed outdoor course, so you’re covered whatever the weather is doing. One entry price gets you unlimited play across all 36 holes.
Supa Putt is BYO, with barbecue facilities on site, making it an easy choice if you want to bring lunch and stay for a few hours.
Rippit Golf
Also in Broadmeadow, Rippit Golf is worth knowing about if your group has a real mix of skill levels. Each hole has two separate cup positions, an easier one and a trickier one, so younger or newer players and more experienced putters can all play the same green without one group being bored or frustrated. It’s an 18-hole outdoor course.
Holey Moley, Charlestown
Inside Charlestown Square, Holey Moley offers 18 holes of indoor mini golf split across two nine-hole courses. Expect a playful, pop culture spin on traditional putt putt, including holes styled around The Simpsons couch. It’s a fun, air-conditioned option if the weather isn’t playing along, and being inside the shopping centre makes it easy to combine with lunch or other errands.
Kahibah Sports Club
Kahibah Sports Club has an 18-hole mini golf course suited to all ages, with the added bonus of full shade over the course and a seating area next to the bowling green. Handy if you want to keep an eye on older kids from a comfortable spot.
Beresfield Golf Course
Beresfield Golf Course reopened in January 2026 under new operator Clublinks Management, following a 15-year lease with City of Newcastle and a round of upgrades to bridges and facilities. As well as a 9-hole golf course, there’s an outdoor mini golf course, an 18-hole disc golf course and FootGolf, where you kick a soccer ball into a specially designed cup instead of using clubs.
With golf, mini golf, disc golf and FootGolf all on one site, it’s an easy choice if your family wants options, or if you’ve got a mixed group who each want to try something different.
Go-Karts-Go Hunter Valley
Mount Putt-a-Rama at Go-Karts-Go in Kearsley is one for motorsport fans. The 18-hole course is a scaled-down tribute to Bathurst’s Mount Panorama, complete with themed artwork, V8 Supercar rims and brake discs worked into the obstacles, and a putt down Conrod Straight past oversized conrods. A fun add-on if you’re already visiting for the go-karts.
Toboggan Hill Park, Nelson Bay
Toboggan Hill Park’s outdoor course sits among banksias and colourful Christmas bush, with 19 challenging holes to work through. You’ll need an individual activity pass to play mini golf here, and there’s a large grassy picnic area near the toboggan track if you want to bring your own food and make a day of it.
David Grahams Golf Complex, Anna Bay
Out at Anna Bay, David Grahams Golf Complex has a 20-hole putt putt course that’s outdoors but fully undercover, so weather isn’t really a factor. A good option if you’re already spending the day in Port Stephens.
