What’s On in Maitland This Spring

There’s no shortage of fun this spring in Maitland! From Maitland Riverlights, Hunter Valley Rodeo and Bling & Bloom to comedy, art, food, and nature experiences – explore a season full of vibrant events and family-friendly activities in the heart of the Hunter.

The Bee Experience

Explore what it’s like to be a real-life beekeeper! This one hour experience provides a unique opportunity to learn about the fascinating world of honeybees, guided by a professional beekeeper. This experience includes a take home jar of award winning honey.

Bling and Bloom at The Levee

Celebrate spring with Bling and Bloom at The Levee. The Levee shared zone will be filled with a great mix of local stores, free garden, florist and jewellery workshops as well as local producers and makers.

Garden Ramble

Spring is in full swing for the Maitland Garden Ramble. Pre purchase a ticket for entry to all six gardens. Explore a variety of gardens and finish with a serving of Devonshire tea at Garden Grove Estate. All proceeds will be donated to local charitable organisations.

Street Eats

Street Eats is back for spring, bringing together mobile food trucks and live music across Maitland. The program has been running successfully since 2017, offering a lively atmosphere where families and friends can enjoy delicious food, live music by local artists and fun-themed activities.

Heartbeat of the Hunter

Saddle up! Heartbeat of the Hunter is back in 2025, bigger and better than ever! The scenic grounds of Tocal Agricultural College in Paterson will come alive with some of the hottest names in Australian Country Music. Complimented by great food, wine and beer, this promises to be an epic day and country music party of the year.

Roller Disco 

Maitland Roller Disco is returning this spring, inviting skaters of all levels for an evening of music and fun at Harold Gregson Reserve. Participants are encouraged to bring their own skates and enjoy live DJ music alongside a selection of food trucks.  No bookings are required; just bring your skates and get ready to boogie!

Aussie Bird Count Bird Walk

Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase

Hunter Valley Rodeo

The Hunter Valley Rodeo rolls into the Maitland Showground, delivering a full day of high energy entertainment, world class rodeo action, and country hospitality. Watch Australia’s best cowboys and cowgirls go head-to-head in a jam packed lineup of bull riding, saddle bronc, bareback, and barrel racing, with thousands of dollars in prize money up for grabs. Riverlights

Riverlights transforms into a global village where you can see, taste, feel and experience over 40 different cultures from around the world. During the school holiday program, activities include lantern making, drumming workshop and stories from around the world located at venues across the city of Maitland.
