Enjoy a pool and waterslide combo! Tomaree Aquatic Centre in Port Stephens is a clean and well-maintained facility and a great place for all ages to cool off on a hot day.
With a 50 metre outdoor, heated pool, a shaded and heated kids pool, a shaded and heated wading pool plus a large waterslide, it’s a great place to spend a couple of hours with kids.
The 50 metre, outdoor, heated pool has designated laps for lap swimmers and a free-play area for splashing about and having fun. There are plenty of well-shaded, seated areas around this pool.
The 20 metre toddler and adjoining wading pool are outdoors, but heated and shaded, perfect for younger kids to play and cool off in under adult supervision.
This pool is the program and swimming lesson pool, so call ahead if you want to plan your visit around these.
Kids will love the large, spiral waterslide. It operates on Saturdays and Sundays between 11am – 2pm. Kids must be over a certain height to ride the slide alone, but smaller kids can ride with a parent or carer. The kiosk sells single ride or multiple ride tickets.
The kiosk is one of the better pool kiosks, with a large variety of hot and cold food, including healthy options, coffee, cold drinks and snack food. There is a small swim shop in case you forget to pack something.
The large, grassed outdoor area at this pool is fantastic and well-maintained, perfect for laying out a picnic blanket. There are free gas barbecues available for use and four undercover picnic tables. You may find yourself surrounded by some local wildlife while enjoying your lunch, including friendly birds and ibis.
Entry charges apply, with session passes and season passes available. Tickets to ride the waterslide cost extra.
Tomaree Aquatic Centre is open year-round.
If you want to make your day a full day of fun, head to Toboggan Hill Park across the road.
