Hold onto your bums – The Bugalugs Bum Thief steals into the Civic Theatre this August.
Civic Theatre Newcastle and Red Line Productions are delighted to present The Bugalugs Bum Thief, a musical adaptation of Tim Winton’s award-winning children’s book of the same name.

Skeeta Anderson and the whole town of Bugalugs wake up one morning to find that their bums are gone. They can’t sit, they can’t keep their pants up, and they can barely stand! There’s just a big hollow where a bum should be. And not only Skeeta’s bum, but the bum of every person in the town of Bugalugs. All 496 of them!

To get to the “bottom” of this cheeky mystery, Skeeta, Mick and Billy will use teamwork, imagination, and butt-loads of laughs to save their town from a bottomless fate and answer the question: Who is the Bugalugs bum thief?

The Bugalugs Bum Thief takes audiences on a whimsical journey through the imaginative world created by Australian author and National Treasure, Tim Winton.
This literacy-based play with music, vividly brings to life the colourful characters and quirky adventures from Winton’s beloved book.

A hilarious, entertaining, and inclusive celebration of friendship, this performance is perfect for curious and creative kids aged 4 – 10 who love to laugh themselves silly!
