Where to Play Disc Golf in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie & Hunter

Have you ever played a game of disc golf?

Disc golf is similar to traditional golf but, instead of a golf ball, players use a frisbee which is aimed at an elevated metal basket instead of a hole. There are now 4 disc golf courses in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie & Hunter region and all 4 courses are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Playing a round or two of disc golf is an inexpensive and fun way to burn some energy with family and friends. So, grab a frisbee and your crew and head to one of the following courses for a game. Beware… It’s addictive!

Armstrong Park Disc Golf Course

Installed in 2023 at Armstrong Park in Lambton, this course is a 6-hole, 18 par course that takes approximately 60-90 minutes to complete. The shorter course length makes it a great choice for families with young kids.

Jesmond Park Disc Golf Course

Jesmond Park Frisbee

You’ll find a 9-hole disc golf course at Jesmond Park. This course is challenging with lots of trees and a ‘red’ or ‘blue’ option.

Construction of the Inner City Bypass means changes have recently been made to the original course including a practice basket near the Robinson Avenue carport.

Stockade Hill Disc Golf Course

The region’s newest disc golf course is located in East Maitland at Stockade Hill Heritage Park. It’s a 9-hole course starting at the rotunda. Parking is off Brisbane Street. Hole 1 starts near the rotunda.

Stockade Hill Heritage Park was originally a temporary course originally set up in East Maitland for a 2 month period in January and February 2022, but due to popularity was extended and is now a permanent course. The course was proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with Maitland City Council.

You can keep score with a digital scorecard from udisc.
