The Newcastle and Hunter Toy Library has reopened for 2019. Memberships are still the incredibly affordable $20 per child for the year or $30 for a family of 2 or more, valid for the calendar year.
A 100% volunteer run community organisation that promotes play for children aged newborn to eight, the Newcastle Toy Library is open Saturday mornings between 9:30am and 11:45am at the New Lambton Library. With hundreds of games, toys, craft kits, ride-ons, outdoor equipment and puzzles to choose from, there is something for every child.
The library support the environment by offering parents a place to try and swap toys on a regularly basis for their children. They encourage independence by allowing children to borrow toys and take responsibility for their safe return and of course, above all else, they promote learning and education through play! Come and meet their wonderful volunteers and sign up today!
They have toys stocked to the ceiling ready to be borrowed! A terrific mix between games, puzzles, toys, baby toys, outdoor equipment and more, with a lot brand new after being purchased from fundraising and grants.
The Toy Library is always looking for volunteers to help out each Saturday morning and its a terrific way to get involved in the community and meet some like-minded people whilst not committing too much time in your busy calendar.

In 2012, Reena founded Newy with Kids to share information about family-friendly Newcastle. Originally from Canada, she had no idea about what to do with her toddler and after searching unsuccessfully for a family guide, decided to start her own. Since that time, both the toddler and Newy with Kids have grown keeping Reena busy. If you see her out and about, say hi.
