Get Ready for Newcastle Brickfest 2026: A LEGO Fan Event

Newcastle Brickfest is on again. Rainbow Bricks is excited to announce the 2026 return of Newcastle’s premier and longest-running LEGO fan event. Newcastle Brickfest is a community event created by local volunteer LEGO fans for LEGO fans.

Fans of all ages will delight in the showcase of LEGO creations and collections from across NSW on Saturday 26 September and Sunday 27 September 2026 at Newcastle Jockey Club.

Come along and see original LEGO creations and displays of LEGO themes, including the ever-popular city layout with working trains.

Exhibitors are always happy to share their passion for LEGO and to answer questions you may have about their display, and talk about LEGO in general.

As well as all the exhibits, there will be lots of activities for everyone to enjoy, including appearances by characters in the Cosplay Area. Make sure you grab a photo with your favourite character!

Brickfest is a family-friendly, not for profit community event which raises money for local charities.

Over the past 10 years, Newcastle Brickfest has featured some of Australia’s best LEGO builders and has donated $140,000 to local schools and charities.

This year’s Charity Partner is the John Hunter Children’s Hospital Kids Club, with all profits being donated to the Kids Club.

In a commitment to accessibility, Rainbow Bricks is running a dedicated 90-minute, quiet, sensory session on Sunday 27 September from 9am to 10:30am.

This year, visitors can enjoy the displays as well as the following LEGO activities:

  • LEGO Play Zone – A huge space to sit down and unleash your own creativity.
  • Build Area – An area for the kids to build after being inspired by the exhibitor’s creations.
  • Speed Builds – This popular competition returns and will run each hour.
  • Find A Minifigure – Hidden on many of the displays will be a Minifigure. Count how many for a chance to win a prize! It’s a fun way to explore the tiny details hidden across the displays.
  • Colouring In – Colouring in competition for the under 12s.
  • LEGO Raffle – LEGO prizes to be won.
  • Cosplay Area – Have your photo taken with one of the characters or one of the backdrops.

If you get hungry, the Newcastle Racecourse will have its canteen open over the weekend.

Once again, there will be staggered start times and limits per session to make the experience of Newcastle Brickfest better. Once you have entered the event, you can stay as long as you like!
