A growing number of Sydney Halloween events have already confirmed their 2026 dates, including the four-day Ghost in The Rocks festival, Luna Park Halloscream and Spooky Spotlight at Centennial Park. Ghosts in the Rocks
Over Halloween weekend, Sydney’s most haunted neighbourhood, rich with tales of mysterious sightings, restless spirits, and shadowy figures will transform into a ghost town. Over four days, this historic district will host Ghost in The Rocks, a FREE Halloween street festival for all. Get ready for ghostly encounters, pulse-raising entertainment, family-friendly fun, and after-dark thrills, along with four out-of-this-world ticketed experiences.

Freaky Friday at Warrick Lane

Halloween at The Metropole Katoomba
The historic Metropole Katoomba transforms into a haunted hotel for a family-friendly Halloween experience. Port Kembla Fearfest
Head south to Port Kembla for Fearfest, a free community Halloween celebration that takes over Wentworth Street and surrounds. Local businesses get into the Halloween spirit with kids’ activities, crafts, face painting, games, live music, roaming performers, markets, spooky treats and plenty of opportunities to dress up.
There’s lots happening for kids, including potion making, Halloween crafts, cupcake decorating, hair braiding and other activities at participating businesses. For families wanting something a little spookier, Smith’s Halloween Horror Maze also returns with a special daytime kids’ session before the scares are ramped up for the evening.

Halloween Family Fest – Newcastle
Make a weekend of it and head north to Newcastle for Halloween Family Fest, a huge family Halloween celebration packed with spooky-but-not-scary fun. Kids can follow the Trick-or-Treat Trail through themed stations, tackle giant inflatables, meet creepy-cute critters, dance at the Monster Mash Disco and enjoy carnival rides, workshops, costume competitions and Halloween photo opportunities.
There’s also an outdoor cinema, Ghostbusters photo opportunity and Monsteropolis – a Halloween playground featuring a massive inflatable obstacle course and monster-themed games. Costumes are highly encouraged!
