Take the Kids for Indoor Play at EMF jnr, Westfield Kotara

Indoor play centres can be a handy option for rainy days, quick shopping breaks or when kids need to burn some energy. EMF Jnr at Westfield Kotara is one such play space for children up to 12.

Please note: Inconsistent opening hours. Newy with Kids readers have advised that although EMF Jnr Kotara operating hours indicate they are open on a weekend, when they arrive the indoor play centre is CLOSED. Please phone ahead to confirm that they are open to avoid disappointment.

EMF Jnr is located underneath Target at Westfield Kotara. You’ll find an escalator just outside Target to your right that leads down to the centre.

EMF Jnr spans two levels. Upstairs you’ll find reception, amenities, a café and play areas suited to different ages. Downstairs includes more amenities, a play area, arcade-style games and party rooms.

The upstairs amenities are located just inside the entrance and include a disabled toilet and a parent’s room with baby change table, sink and nursing room.

Choose from Casual Free Play sessions, Drop and Shop sessions, Creche or Supervised Play. The use of grip socks is mandatory, so remember to bring your own or buy them from reception.

EMF Jnr reports around 1,200 sqm of play space. Upstairs features a large ball pit structure with climbing elements, including rope netting that children can climb through.

Other activities upstairs include a giant pin art wall, a pedal bike roundabout and a STEM-based interactive screen.

Downstairs features a play area, a large spinning bowl and more than 30 arcade-style games. These games operate using tokens purchased from reception and include driving games, claw machines, bowling-style games and shooting games.

The café serves hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice creams. There are tables overlooking the toddler play area where parents and carers can sit while children play.

The toddler area is designed for children aged 3 and under and has rubber matting. It includes a mini slide, small ball pit, play kitchen, play shop, colouring activities and a Duplo wall.

EMF Jnr hosts birthday parties for children under 12, with several party rooms and package options. Optional extras may include catering, cake and decorations.
