Indoor play centres are handy for rainy days, school holidays or when the kids just need to burn off energy. EMF jnr at Westfield Kotara is one option for children up to 12, located underneath Target (take the escalator just outside Target, to your right).
Please check before you go. Newy with Kids readers have told us that EMF jnr Kotara has sometimes been closed on weekends despite listed opening hours. We’d recommend phoning ahead to confirm they’re open before making the trip. We last visited some time ago, so hours, pricing and what’s on offer may have changed.
What’s there
The centre spans two levels with around 1,200 sqm of play space. Upstairs has reception, a cafe, amenities including a parents’ room, and play areas for different ages, including a ball pit with climbing elements and a separate toddler area for under 3s. Downstairs has more play space, party rooms and arcade-style games that run on tokens from reception.
You can choose from casual free play, Drop and Shop, creche or supervised play sessions, so there are options whether you’re staying or ducking off to shop. Grip socks are required and can be bought at reception if you don’t have your own.
