Looking for a free day out the kids will love? Head to the Emergency Management and Community Resilience Expo!
With big vehicles, hands-on activities, live demonstrations, food and music, it’s a great opportunity to keep the kids entertained while learning a thing or two about staying safe when emergencies happen.

Taking over Maitland Showground on Saturday 14 November, this action-packed family day brings together more than 25 emergency services, government agencies and community organisations for a day of exciting displays, interactive experiences and plenty to explore.
Best of all, entry is completely FREE!
Kids can get up close to emergency vehicles and equipment, meet the people who respond when disaster strikes and see how emergency crews help keep our communities safe.

There’s plenty to get involved in, too. Have a turn holding a fire hose with the NSW Rural Fire Service, climb aboard an inflatable rescue raft with Marine Rescue NSW, learn how to keep your pets safe during emergencies with the RSPCA, and watch a kitchen fire simulator demonstration with Fire and Rescue NSW.

You can also catch live road crash and flood rescue demonstrations, explore impressive emergency service displays and discover what happens behind the scenes when crews are called into action.

While the kids take it all in, families can pick up practical tips for preparing for bushfires, floods and storms, making it a fun day out with some useful takeaways for the whole household.
