If you’re planning on taking the trek down to Sydney to see the iconic Sydney New Year’s Eve fireworks, start planning now. As well as areas around Sydney Harbour, you can snag a ticket to see the Sydney fireworks on the Cahill Expressway.
Here’s how you can get tickets to different NYE vantage points.
NYE on the Cahill Expressway 2025
It’s too late to get tickets for the Cahill Expressway but keep it in mind for 2026. For a stellar view, enter the ballot to celebrate New Year’s Eve at a free, family-friendly event on the Cahill Expressway.
Next year, enter the public ballot for the chance to secure up to five tickets for your friends and family for either the 9pm or midnight fireworks sessions. Terms and conditions will be available online when the ballot opens. Transport for NSW is pleased to give NSW residents the opportunity to enjoy Sydney’s famous New Year’s Eve fireworks from one of the best locations the city has to offer.
NSW National Parks NYE Viewing Areas
Tickets for the NSW National Parking NYE get snapped up quickly. You can grab a ticket to see the NYE fireworks from one of NSW National Parks’ unique and beautiful venues.
These free tickets secure your early entry to these different viewing areas so you can get there early and grab a spot to watch the 9pm fireworks and hang around for the midnight firework display if you want. After 9.15pm, there will be general access to these different areas if the site isn’t already at capacity.
Choose from Sydney Harbour islands or foreshore locations, with excellent views of the city skyline, harbour and night sky. There’s a mix of alcohol-free and family-friendly venues, as well as fully licensed options.
You can enjoy a front row position on Sydney Harbour island, or on the harbour foreshore at Bradleys Head, Strickland Estate or North Head.
If it’s operated like last year, tickets will be free through Moshtix but there will be a transaction fee that will apply to the total order value of your purchase.
NYE Bradleys Head: The Mast Precinct (BOOKED OUT)
The Mast Precinct at Bradleys Head is a relaxed, family-friendly space on New Year’s Eve. Choose a spot on the upper road, boardwalk or grassed area.

NYE Bradleys Head: Athol Lawn (BOOKED OUT)
The whole family will enjoy New Year’s Eve at Athol Lawn. Bring a picnic and enjoy a stress-free countdown to 2026 at Bradleys Head.

NYE Clark Island (BOOKED OUT)
Clark Island is a unique destination to celebrate New Year’s Eve. It’s a beautiful island oasis in the middle of Sydney Harbour with superb views of the fireworks.
Price: Event is free but the ferry cost is extra. Children under 5 are free.
When: Wednesday 31 December 2025. Ferries leave at 5.45pm and 6.45pm.

NYE Strickland Estate, Vaucluse (BOOKED OUT)
Enjoy the NYE fireworks from the lawns of Strickland Estate. Bring a picnic and non-alcoholic drinks, or buy food and alcohol at this licensed site. A ticketed accessible viewing area is available.

NYE North Head, Manly
See out the old year and welcome in 2026 at North Head in Manly. You’ll have great views of Sydney Harbour and the city skyline. Far from the city, it’s a relaxed place to celebrate with the family. The fireworks viewing area is a 2km walk (approximately) from the entry gate along a sealed road.

If you don’t want to book tickets just yet, you can just rock up to this iconic NYE event. More than a million people make their way into the city and surrounds for the celebrations. Watch the 9pm or midnight fireworks from one of these viewing areas on the harbour. Here’s a list of vantage points around Sydney Harbour.
If you don’t feel like heading out for NYE events or to see fireworks, stay at home and watch the 9pm or midnight City of Sydney fireworks. The fireworks are streamed live on the City of Sydney website at 9pm and midnight. You can also watch the event on ABC and iview. The broadcast begins at 8.30pm and there’s also a synchronised soundtrack on the radio.
