Take part in the Hunter Valley’s largest Easter Egg Hunt at Hunter Valley Gardens during the Easter Long Weekend. Join Hunter Valley Gardens for a weekend of fun, including Easter activities, spectacular rides and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Every child will receive an Easter chocolate at the completion of the Giant Easter Hunt. Plus, there’s also a Golden Egg Hunt to win a Family Annual Pass!
The Hunts will be conducted on Friday 18, Saturday 19, Sunday 20 and Monday 21 April, with 2 sessions on Friday and Monday and 3 sessions on Saturday and Sunday, with the 10am session dedicated to children under 6 years of age only. Every child that takes part in the Easter Egg Hunt receives an Easter chocolate. Tickets for the Easter Egg Hunt are $2 per hunt/per child and must be purchased online with any family pass (as an add on at checkout).

Hop along to the Hunter Wetlands Centre on Saturday 19 March from 9.30am to 1pm for some egg-celent Easter fun – jumping castle, dip-netting, craft, a Bunny Trail to follow and lots more. These activities are free with entry. There’ll also be face painting, reptile encounters ($5pp booking essential) and a sausage sizzle. Bring a picnic or eat at the Wetlands Café.
The main Easter activities end at 1pm but visitors can stay and explore the wetlands – walks, playgrounds, Egret Tower, Animal House, Bush Tucker Garden and more. NOTE: Limited on-site parking available. Book online for this event.
Gresford Easter Billy Cart Derby

Gresford Gears Up for the Easter Billy Cart Derby! Get yourself trackside for the exciting Gresford Billy Cart Derby on Easter Saturday. This free family friendly event sees kids from just 10 years of age and adults who are young at heart, race homemade billy carts down the steep mainstreet of the picturesque rural village of Gresford, just one hour from Newcastle. It’s so fun the Easter Bunny is even coming along to race!!!
Other entertainment includes a gumboot tossing competition, market stalls, raffles, vintage cars and delicious food for everyone to enjoy. This event is a project of the Rotary Club of Dungog and plays a crucial role in raising funds for the community, supporting local schools, community groups, and sports clubs.
