Go for a ride on Redhead pump track. Lake Macquarie City Council officially opened the Redhead pump track in July 2023 and it’s been a popular destination for kids and families.
The $450,000 Redhead pump track – the first of its kind for Lake Macquarie features a 150m track overlooking Redhead Beach.

The pump track is designed for all skill levels, from beginners to expert riders, and is suitable for bikes, skateboards and scooters.
For those unfamiliar with the concept of a pump track, it’s a circuit of rollers, banked turns and jumps.

Pump tracks are designed to be ridden by riders “pumping” and generating momentum through moving their bodies up and down, instead of pedalling or pushing.

The Redhead pump track was designed by industry leaders Velosolutions, in consultation with the local community and it’s proving popular with kids of all ages.

The design of the track means that there are different routes. The shortest route is 134m while the longer route on the circuit measures 158m.

As well as the track, the new facility features shaded seating, a water station and a bike repair station with a pump and various tools.
