Take Your Kids to Adamstown Park Playground

Located on Glebe Road next door to the Adamstown Bowling Club, Adamstown Park playground is a popular spot for families.

Conveniently located close to coffee spots, it’s an ideal place to catch up with friends or your mothers group, while your kids play on the new play equipment or scoot around the playground.

There’s play equipment to suit a variety of ages, but in our opinion, the playground is best suited to toddlers, preschoolers and younger primary school-aged kids.

The main play structure includes lots of different play components. There’s a small slide with steps to get up to it, suitable for younger tots.

For kids who like to climb and jump, there’s a spiderweb climbing net, balancing stools and a climbing frame to get across to the other side of the play structure.

Here you’ll find the entrance to the twisty slide.

This playground also features swings. As well as a regular swing and a baby swing, there’s a group swing so kids can pile in and swing together.

For kids who love to spin, there’s a slightly elevated roundabout.

The playground features a combination of soft fall and bark chips as well as concrete pavement leading up to the playground.

Bring your kids’ bikes and scooters as there’s a paved track that winds around the playground.

The cutest thing at this playground is the ice cream truck cut out which will be perfect for snapping pics of your kids.

There are two picnic tables under a covered shelter, perfect for eating snacks or drinking coffee.

There’s an additional paved area next to the playground, on the other side of the picnic shelter. This will be a future basketball court.

Please note: There is no fencing at this playground. If your child or grandchild is a runner, this is NOT the playground for them. Although, the playground is set back from the busy traffic on Glebe Road, there is no fence between the playground and road.

For those wondering why the City of Newcastle doesn’t have fenced playgrounds, here is an explanation from their website under Playgrounds FAQs.
