The 2025 Active and Creative Kids program is open now. From January 15, 2025, eligible parents, guardians and carers of school-aged children can apply for the Active and Creative Kids voucher, a means-tested voucher.
The voucher is valued at $50 and:
- will be available twice a year, starting from January 15, 2025
- can be used for eligible active or creative activities with registered providers
- must be redeemed before the expiry date on the voucher.
Voucher applications for the 2025 Active and Creative Kids voucher will open in January 15, 2025.
You will be able to apply for a voucher if:
- your child is a NSW resident and aged between 4.5 and 18 years old
- you receive:
- Family Tax Benefit Part A
- Family Tax Benefit Part B
- Both Family Tax Benefit Part A and Family Tax Benefit Part B.

How does the Active Kids program work?
The NSW Government provides 2 x $50 voucher to parents/guardians of eligible school enrolled children. The $50 voucher can be used for registration and participation costs for sport and fitness activities or for .
The initiative aims to reduce barriers to participation and help change the physical activity behaviours of children and young people in NSW.
Who is eligible to claim the Active Kids voucher?
You will be able to apply for a voucher if:
- your child is a NSW resident and aged between 4.5 and 18 years old
- you receive:
- Family Tax Benefit Part A
- Family Tax Benefit Part B
- Both Family Tax Benefit Part A and Family Tax Benefit Part B.
This includes those who are home-schooled or enrolled in secondary school education at TAFE NSW.
Can I receive both the NSW Creative Kids Rebate and Active Kids Rebate?
No, the two vouchers have been combined into a new program which started in 2024 and now parents and caregivers will only be able to access two $50 vouchers Active and Creative Kids voucher for each child per calendar year. This can be used for eligible active or creative activities with registered providers
How long does an Active Kids voucher last?
The Active Kids voucher must be redeemed before the expiry date on the voucher.
What can the Active Kids voucher be used for?
You can use the voucher for eligible activities such as dance, music, football (soccer), martial arts, craft, gymnastics, visual arts, painting, drawing, drama, tennis, rugby league, singing, basketball, languages, netball, yoga, creative writing, choreography, circus arts and coding.

The vouchers will be redeemable through approved sport, fitness and physical activity providers upon registration.
How do you download an Active Kids voucher?
Parents/guardians/carers with legal responsibility of an eligible child resident in NSW will be able to download a current year voucher from the online platform.
The platform will be run by Service NSW and can be accessed through the Active & Creative Kids Voucher website.
