The Hunter’s premier sporting facility is set to reach new heights with the official opening of the newly expanded Hunter Sports Centre, kaiyu nungkiliko in Glendale.
To mark this exciting milestone, Lake Macquarie City Council invites you to a free Community Open Day from 12pm – 3pm on Saturday 29 March where everyone is welcome to explore and enjoy the space. (The event was originally scheduled for Saturday 8 March but has been rescheduled due to weather forecast).
This state-of-the-art facility has undergone a $52 million upgrade, designed to inspire athletes, fitness enthusiasts and the broader community with world-class amenities and upgraded sporting spaces.
As part of this transformation, the centre now features the newly completed Trevor Height Athlete Testing Facility, offering cutting-edge performance analysis for athletes.
The three-storey Sport and Community Centre features a 24-hour gymnasium, multipurpose rooms, a function space, and a commercial kitchen with cafe dining.
Additionally, the NSW Trampoline Centre of Excellence provides a one-of-a-kind, 1300m² arena featuring 12 trampolines, a foam pit, and seating for 400 spectators, making it Australia’s only dedicated facility of its kind.
