Disney On Ice presents Magic in the Stars Coming to Newcastle in July 2026 (Presale Tickets Soon)

Disney magic is returning to Newcastle these winter school holidays when Disney On Ice skates back into the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.

The brand-new production Disney On Ice presents Magic in the Stars will run from Thursday 9 July to Sunday 12 July 2026, bringing favourite Disney characters and spectacular skating performances to the Hunter.

For many Newcastle families, Disney On Ice has become a much-loved school holiday tradition and tickets tend to sell quickly each year.

What to expect at Disney On Ice

Disney On Ice is a large-scale live show performed on an ice rink inside the Newcastle Entertainment Centre. It combines storytelling, music, figure skating, acrobatics and theatrical effects to recreate moments from popular Disney films.

More than 50 Disney characters appear in the show, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck and Goofy who guide audiences through the magical adventure.

Families will also see favourite characters from films such as EncantoFrozenMoanaToy StoryCars and classic Disney princess stories.

Pursue your dreams with Tiana, from The Princess and the Frog, as she strives to make her wish of opening a restaurant come true.

Discover the power of three wishes with Aladdin when he finds a magic lamp in the Cave of Wonders. Reminisce with Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, and Rapunzel as they remind us to never stop wishing and dreaming.

Escape “Into the Unknown” with Elsa and Anna from Frozen 2, hit the road with Disney and Pixar’s Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater as they cruise on the ice to “Life Is A Highway,” and reconnect with Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie, Rex, and Hamm.

Travel to the mountains of Colombia where the Madrigal family lives, unlock the magic in the family’s casita, and discover why “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”

Set sail with Moana on her canoe into the open ocean, to witness her encourage Te Kā to “Know Who You Are” and transform into Te Fiti.

One of the exciting additions for the 2026 show is Raya from Raya and the Last Dragon, who makes her debut on the ice with an impressive aerial performance.

In the end, audiences will learn that everyone has dreams they want to come true, but the brightest light shines inside of YOU! Every one of you is a STAR! So, shine bright and let your stories light up the night sky!

The colourful costumes, familiar songs and impressive skating routines make Disney On Ice an entertaining experience for both kids and adults.

How long is Disney On Ice?

Disney On Ice productions usually run for around 90 minutes to two hours, including a short intermission.

The length works well for younger children and makes it a good option for a school holiday outing with the family.

Buying tickets for Disney On Ice Newcastle

Tickets for Disney On Ice are sold through Ticketek.

Pre-sale tickets for Disney On Ice Preferred Customers become available from 17 March 2026, with general public ticket sales beginning on 28 April 2026.

Ticket prices vary depending on the seating section and performance time. In previous years, prices have started from around $30 per person, with premium seating options available closer to the rink.

Children under 24 months are admitted free provided they sit on a parent or guardian’s lap. Children aged 2 years and older require their own ticket.

Last year, tickets started from just $27 + handling fee and can be purchased through Ticketek: 132 849 or www.ticketek.com.au with tickets on sale soon. (For the length of the program, we reckon it’s great family value). It’s the same price for adults and kids.

TIP: In 2025, Newy with Kids has reviewed the Ticketek website and noticed that the prices differ depending on the day and time of performance. We noticed that the cheapest prices in Newcastle are for the Thursday or Friday sessions and the 6pm Sunday session. However, it depends as pricing varies for each venue.
