Here’s a fun COVID-safe activity to do with your family. Go for a family drive and spot scarecrows in Yarramalong. This is a perfect family activity for those who want to stay socially distanced in their own vehicles.
The annual Scarecrow Competition in the Yarramalong Valley runs from Saturday 29 August until Sunday 13 September.
Drive through the valley and expect to be surprised by the fascinating roadside creations. There is a large variety of creative scarecrows to enjoy including a few Coronavirus-themed and bushfire-themed scarecrows.
The scarecrows are spread out among the whole valley so take a drive through Yarramalong, Cedar Brush Creek and Ravensdale to spot them.
According to one participant Melissa, most of them are along Yarramalong Road and only two are on side streets. Her entry #65 Crow Mater at Yarrabee Farm is just past the service station by about two kilometers
You can also vote for your favourite scarecrow by visiting the Yarramalong Valley Spring Festival website and voting for your favourite crow using its official number.
Want to stop for a bite to eat? Visit Angel Sussuri Restaurant & Manor House. Their cafe is open 7 days a week from 9am – 4pm and restaurant Thursday and Friday 9am-3pm. They are registered as a COVIDsafe venue with all procedures put in place. There is also the Yarramalong Valley Store and Cafe which provides a large range of cafe style food.
