Saturday Orienteering Series Expands into Newcastle

| |

Looking for something different for exercise? Something parents and kids will enjoy and can participate in as a group or individually at the same place, the same time and at their own level.

Come and join in the popular Saturday Orienteering Series which this week expands into Newcastle!

Conducted by Orienteering NSW’s partner organisation Bold Horizons and the Newcastle Orienteering Club, the SOS includes six events within Term 2 and is the ideal introduction to the sport. All events will be within the heart of Newcastle.

It’s a real-life Pokemon GO – but instead of a phone you use a specially produced colour map and an electronic timing stick to record your checkpoints visits.  It’s outdoors, it’s active, builds skills for life and is a whole lot of fun.

You can start any time between 9.30-11am. All you need is comfy exercise clothes and a sense of adventure.

These events are conducted in well-bounded areas so you can safely go about your course.

The SOS has been running in northern Sydney for 8 years, and more recently in the Hills District and the Macarthur area.

These events are great for beginners but also offer a challenge to experienced orienteers.
