| |

Wondering where you should book accommodation in Newcastle for the 2019 Coates Hire Newcastle 500? Depends on what you want and your budget. There’s a variety of accommodation available including hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, guesthouses and self contained accommodation. The closer to the track, the more you’ll pay. The 2019 Coates Hire Newcastle 500 returns to Newcastle from November 22 – 24, 2019 so book your accommodation for the Supercars event as soon as you can, as places fill up.

Inside Supercars Precinct

Inside the race precinct at Newcastle East, there’s a few choices such as Quality Hotel Noah’s on the Beach, Newcastle Beach Hotel, Novotel Newcastle Beach and for those on a budget, Newcastle Beach YHA. The advantage of staying here is that you’re close to the street circuit.

Newcastle CBD

Nearby the track are the following hotels: Rydges Newcastle, Travelodge Hotel Newcastle, Crown & Anchor Hotel, The Clarendon Hotel, Ibis Hotel, Quest Newcastle Apartments, Quest Newcastle West and the new Holiday Inn Express at Newcastle West.

Newcastle Suburbs

For cheaper accomodation, try the suburbs of Mayfield, Jesmond and Hamilton. Mayfield has a motel strip on Maitland Road and The Gateway Inn on Industrial Drive. Jesmond is close to the University and features accommodation including the Jesmond Executive Villas.

In Hamilton / Broadmeadow area, stay at The Greenroof, Boulevard on Beaumont or The Premier Hotel.

And don’t forget about caravan parks. There’s a popular caravan park in Stockton, the NRMA Stockton Beach Holiday Park. Just take the 5 minute ferry across the harbour to Supercars.

Lake Macquarie

You can also stay in nearby Lake Macquarie. It has a variety of accommodation available at lower prices than what you might find in Newcastle. In Charlestown, there’s the Mercure Charlestown and Best Western Plus Apollo International.

Lakeside, check out Warners Bay or Speers Point. Accommodation choices include Warners at the Bay, Warners Bay Hotel and Pippi’s at the Point.

If you’re camping, have an RV or happy to stay in a cabin, there’s council-run holiday parks at Belmont, Swansea, Blacksmiths and Wangi Wangi. Visit Lake Mac Holiday Parks for more information.

If you don’t mind a longer trip in and want to save on accommodation costs, book a place in the Maitland area. You can either drive in or catch the train directly to Newcastle Interchange in Wickham. From there, catch the light rail to the race precinct. Accommdation includes Mercure Maitland Monte Pio, Quest Maitland, Molly Morgan Motor Inn and the Best Western Endeavour Motel.
