Take a Ride Down Lambton Pool Waterslide Before It’s Replaced

Take a last slide down iconic Lambton Pool waterslide before it’s replaced (long-overdue we might add!)

Local families have the chance to take one more slide down the towering spiral waterslide at Lambton Swimming Centre before the iconic attraction is updated.

The 120m-long twisting waterslide will operate until the end of the April school holidays, with work to commence on replacement once the Lambton Swimming Centre closes for winter.

City of Newcastle has progressed plans to replace the 22-year-old enclosed raft waterslide, with the aim to have the new waterslide ready when the pool reopens for the 2022/23 summer season.

A like-for-like replacement of the waterslide will be installed at the site of the existing slide within Lambton Swimming Centre and the project will make use of the existing supporting infrastructure.

If you haven’t climbed up to the top of the 9-metre-high tower and sailed down in a raft down the waterslide, do so before the end of the school holidays.

Originally installed in 2000, this classic waterslide is a favourite, with many local parents having ridden down the waterslide when they were themselves kids or teens.

Admission to Lambton Pool costs $5.60 for adults, $4.60 for concession / child with kids under 3 getting in free. The waterslide is $5.50 per hour.
