Here’s a fun activity to try with your kids these summer holidays. Lake Macquarie City Council has a new school holiday activity called Lake Mac nature treasure trails.
Adventure through natural bushland, along the way use your smartphone to scan QR codes. Answer the local knowledge questions by looking around you and unlock clues to the next QR code location. There are 6 QR codes to find to compete the trail!
This self-directed activity is suitable for groups with children aged 5+ years. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. You will need your smartphone to access clues and answer questions using a QR code reader.
Both the nature treasure trails are about 1.7km long. It is recommended that participants have a reasonable level of fitness as the trail involves negotiating uneven paths, stepping over tree roots, sloped surfaces and stairs. It is unsuitable for strollers or anyone with mobility aids.
Get out there with family and/or friends and have some fun and learn some new things along the way! Register for more information.
