Family Fun & Fireworks at Lake Mac Festival

Enjoy two big days of free family fun at the 2022 Lake Mac Festival with waterfront events at Croudace Bay, Warners Bay, Rathmines, Belmont and Speers Point plus Saturday fireworks!

Family Fun Day on Saturday 22 January

Thomas H Halton Park, Croudace Bay
8am – noon

  • Yoga in the park (bring your own mat)
  • Free BBQ breakfast with food provided by Carlos IGA Woodrising * while stocks last
  • Live music
  • Kids games from Gecko Sports including mini obstacle course, ball games and more
  • Little Scallywagz ‘Jolly Pirate Show’ followed by meet and greet and photo opportunities
  • Entertainment by Tim Harding (originally one of the Hi-5 group members)
  • Face painting  
  • Pre-loved book giveaway

Big Bang Family Fun on Saturday 22 January

Various locations in Lake Macquarie
5pm – 9:30pm

Saturday evening will see colourful lakeside activations at Warners Bay, Belmont, Rathmines and Swansea each with its own entertainment, live music, market stalls and food vendors. All four sites will operate 5pm to 9:30pm, followed by a fireworks display over the water at 9pm.

  • Brookes Parade Reserve, Belmont
  • Rathmines Park
  • Swansea Bay Beach
  • Museum of Art and Culture (MAC) at Booragul – MAC will feature a special program for the event. Tickets are available online.

Fireworks on Saturday 22 January

Spectacular simultaneous fireworks displays will light up Lake Macquarie from end to end as part of the annual Lake Mac Festival. The 9pm displays on Saturday 22 January will ignite from pontoons off Warners Bay, Rathmines and Belmont and coincide with evening activities featuring live music, food trucks and entertainment.

Sunday Sessions on Sunday 23 January

Speers Point Park
11am – 5pm

Enjoy a cruisy day in the park and enjoy the following activities:

  • Food vans and market stalls
  • Wine, beer, cider and gin stalls
  • Live music from musicians playing Australian music
  • Kids zone

The Lake Mac Festival events will have a COVID-safe plan in place and will comply with all NSW Health regulations. It is proudly sponsored by NSW Government’s The Festival of Place program and Carlo’s IGA Woodrising.
