Enjoy two big days of free family fun at the 2020 Lake Mac Festival with waterfront events at Croudace Bay, Pelican, Swansea, Wangi Wangi, Rathmines and Speers Point plus Saturday fireworks!
Festivities kick off on Saturday 25 January in Thomas H Halton Park at Croudace Bay with a free breakfast run by local community groups and a family fun morning. This event runs from 7.30am to noon and features live music, yoga, family-friendly games and children’s entertainers Little Scallywagz.

A traditional Australia Day citizenship ceremony at Council’s Speers Point administration building on Sunday morning will naturalise more than 90 people from all corners of the globe, while a laid-back concert in Speers Point Park from 3-7pm will keep the good times rolling. The Sunday Sessions event will feature local artists Tim Harding, GENR8, Hurricane Fall and the Komiti Levai Band. Bring your own picnic or grab some food from food trucks at the park.

In 2012, Reena founded Newy with Kids to share information about family-friendly Newcastle. Originally from Canada, she had no idea about what to do with her toddler and after searching unsuccessfully for a family guide, decided to start her own. Since that time, both the toddler and Newy with Kids have grown keeping Reena busy. If you see her out and about, say hi.
