Help Make Lake Mac Even Better For Kids

| |

Lake Macquarie is home to over 55,000 families, and 31,000 children aged under 12, and in order to support these growing families, Lake Macquarie City Council is seeking community input to develop its 2021-2025 Children and Families Strategy.

They are asking their local families:

  • What is important to you?
  • What do you love about our community?
  • What you would like to see more of in Lake Macquarie?
  • What would make life even better?

Community Planner Children and Families Jess Salvador said the strategy was an essential framework for considering and protecting the needs of our youngest residents.  “We want to work collaboratively with the community, and most importantly with children, to ensure their voices are reflected in the strategy,” Ms Salvador said.

Lake Macquarie City Council is asking their community to share ideas for priorities and actions in their new Children and Families Strategy 2021-2024. Building on the previous strategy, the forward actions aim to target three strategic directions: keeping children safe, ensuring kids are developing well and connecting families and communities.
