Join Maitland City Council for a range of children’s activities, art and craft and inspired play this Autumn at The Levee for Creative Capers!
There’s a range of free fun and interactive play each Wednesday from 10am to 12pm, starting with The Quokkas performance on 21 April.
Local Newcastle based band The Quokkas will make their Maitland debut at The Riverlink, with two free performances this autumn.
The Quokkas are a musical mash-up unlike any other. A five-piece band of professional musicians, made up of different cultural backgrounds and physical abilities, focused on helping the next generation of Aussie children explore the world and make them more accepting and inclusive.
Their mission is to “Make Music That Makes A Better Future!”. The Quokkas will round out the Creative Capers with their final performance on Wednesday 26 May.
If singing and dancing isn’t quite your jam, Maitland Library will bring some books and comfy pillows for story time, while Acacia Play will get the kids learning and connecting with nature.
Grab a book at Storytime with Maitland Library on 28 April and 19 May, where kids will get a chance to sing some songs, say some rhymes and listen to some stories. The pop up library will also have books available for kids to browse and read between sessions.
Acacia Play is all about kids learning and connecting with nature. Find them at The Shared Zone, near The Hatch. They will be offering a range of fun activities with a special autumn focus. Have a go at decorating autumn leaves with ochre and natural paints, weaving a bracelet from natural materials and making your own paper pot and potting up a seedling that you can then take home.
