Chalk your Walk & Spread Some Joy In Your Neighbourhood

| |

Grab the kids and some chalk and get outside and decorate your sidewalk or driveway. #ChalkYourWalk is the latest feel-good campaign sweeping the globe amidst the COVID-19 outbreak. It’s a fun and easy way to spread positivity.

While most of us are at home social distancing, we’re still able to enjoy a short neighbourhood walk (applying social distancing rules of course).

Bring some joy to the neighbourhood walk by drawing pictures, writing inspirational quotes, sending messages to your neighbours or whatever you want on your sidewalk, driveway or even on your front door in chalk.

It’s a fun at-home activity for kids and gives them an opportunity to get outside. This activity suits a wide range of ages from toddlers to teens.

Make it a creative arts assignment for those who are homeschooling or learning from home.

Chalk Your Walk

Parents, join in the drawing with your kids. It’s actually a very therapeutic activity and helps to get your mind off all your worries. You might even surprise yourself with your drawing ability.

Draw a hopscotch outline and teach your kids to play this classic game as well. You might get even neighbours having a go while they walk by your place as well.

Get your neighbours involved too to create an art trail which you can all enjoy on your neighbourhood walks (until it rains and then you do it all over again!)

Leave a note in your neighbours’ mailboxes or send them a text if you have their numbers. It’s a great way to build community at this time when we need it the most.
