Even though your local gym or pool might be closed due to COVID-19, you still enjoy fitness at home. The BlueFit group which runs Lambton Pool, Mayfield Pool, Stockton Pool and Wallsend Pool has launched Bfit@Home. This is a new fitness platform with comprehensive training programs open to all fitness levels. It’s a mix of live and on-demand workouts and kids sport sessions available to all Australians free of charge.
There are loads of fun activities on Bfit@Home for the whole family to enjoy.
Kids will have fun during isolation with four of the world’s most popular sports re-imagined into free online training sessions. Kids wanting to continue to work on their sporting skills can log onto the website to learn the fundamentals of soccer, basketball, golf and gymnastics or improve specific skillsets and practice drills. There are also great dryland exercises for water babies!
Each session has been designed to allow kids to break out of their school holiday or home schooling routine, use equipment available from around the house as well as give parents a break. While the online sessions are fun and completely free for parents, the experience gets kids unplugged and away from screens.
Some of the sessions include:
- Strike Football TV
- Strike Basketball TV
- Move Like the Avengers by Les Mills Avengers
- Story times
There is also plenty of great fitness videos for adults featuring and on-demand workouts including a library of Les Mills workouts like GRIT, BodyCombat and Les Mills Barre.
Get moving with pre-filmed workouts by instructors such as ‘Quick Abs’, ‘Glute Workout’ or ‘Booty Burner’. They are a quick way to move your body in between working from home or home schooling the kids. New workouts are released each week in the form of pre-filmed workouts.
For a longer sweat session, live streaming of popular aerobic classes will be scheduled throughout the week including ‘Body Combat’, ‘Zumba Party’, ‘FX30’ and ‘Abs, Butt & Thighs’. A fully trained and supportive fitness instructor e-guides participants through the exercises in real-time and with music pumping through the video, it’ll feel just like you’re working out in a class at your local leisure centre.
Even if you’re self-isolating, exercise with a friend. Choose a session to stream and video call using Zoom, Facetime or WhatApp and work out together virtually.
To access the fitness sessions, visit the Bfit@tHome website.
